Styrmir Jósúa

I am Styrmir Jósúa, the founder of Alive Journeys. My name, "the man who runs into the eye of the Storm," was given to me for a reason. As an Icelander, I have stood face to face with countless storms, both within and without, and in their fierce embrace, I have found the aliveness that stirs my soul.

Born in the heart of Iceland, the land itself courses through my veins. I carry the elemental forces of this wild place within me, and I know its deeper stories, woven into the fabric of its people and culture.

My grandfather, who was a master of stories, carved the ancient myths of the Norse into wood, preserving the sacred wisdom of our ancestors. His stories live on in me, and I share them with those who join me on this journey, inviting them to experience the magic that still flows through this land.

Since my youth, I have searched for ways to heal and awaken the spirit. I have explored paths as diverse as Yoga, Shamanism, Qi Gong, and Western Psychology. Through these practices, I have discovered the tools to raise our life force and deepen our connection to the vast, untamed beauty of Iceland.

But perhaps the greatest gift I have uncovered is this: the ability to ignite the fire within others. For I believe, with every fiber of my being, that the purpose of life is to awaken to the fullness of our aliveness. And it is this very aliveness — this boundless, radiant energy — that I seek to awaken in every person who walks this journey with me
